TMC-Cong strike deal

With LS elections around the corner, all parties are at their best to strike deals to fight their common opponents.
And alliances play an important role here. As doubted, Congress has joined hands with the Trinamool Congress to fight the ruling Left government in West Bengal. Cong leader Pranab Mukherjee who has discuseed with TMC leader Mamta has said that the two parties will jointly fight the coming Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal against the ruling Left Front. --MP
Shatabdi Roy to contest for TMC
Popular Bengali actress Shatabdi Roy will contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections for Trinamool Congress.This was informed by TMC Chief Mamta Banerjee on Monday.
Announcing the party's decision to field Shatabdi for the elections, Mamta however did not disclose any details on the constituency from where the actress would contest. She also confirmed that TMC has reached on a deal with the Congress to fight the elections at the State. --MP
Comrade forever: Somnath

With curtains down for LS speaker Somnath Chatterjee, the retirement for the WB leader from active politics also comes with a series of eventful experiences.
Sharing hs experience as the LS Speaker, Chatterjee felt the cash for votes scam ahead of the trust vote turned out to be the most unfortunate incident during his tenure. And the worst personal blow was when his party CPM expelled him for not quiting the Speakers post.
However he still considers that he is a communist and remarked that he would remain as a comrade forever. He also ruled out of contesting for elections again. --MP
