M K Narayanan appointed WB Governor

National Security Adviser MK Narayanan has been appointed as the new governor of West Bengal, while former Union home minister Shivraj Patil will take Governor of Punjab. Patil will also be the Administrator of Chandigarh. Mr E S L Narasimhan, the Governor of Chhattisgarh, has been transferred as the Governor of Andhra. With Narayanan's new posting, NSA will now go to either former Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon or Shyam Saran. -- MP
