WB awaits nod for Nayachara chemical hub
Sunday 8 February 2009
With the general elections around the corner, the West Bengal government is sincerely hoping for an early green signal from the Center for the State's chemical hub at Nayachar.
Even as the opposition parties are against it, the West Bengal government is pressing for its final clearance which was proposed under the Centre's PCPIR scheme. Though Nandigram was the initial proposed site, it was shifted to Nayachara island at the East Midnapore district following violence at Nandigram.
