TMC eyeing deal with Cong
Thursday 26 February 2009
The Mamata led trinamool Congress in West Bengal is pressing for a deal with the Congress to fight the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Though a consensus is yetr to be rached on this, its learnt that the party members are keen to strike a deal on the seat sharing basis between the two ahead of the polls. Meanwhile AICC has maintained that a final decision would be taken only by the high command, though the Cong party members has informed the party leadership in Delhi about their interests with TMC in the State.
Also the Cong seems to be still confused with as to whom it has to ally with inorder to form a government at the Center while Mamata is focussed only on bringing down CPM from power in West Bengal. --MP
