Rs. 2 per kg rice for poor

Ahead of elections, West Bengal govt has announced a series of sops across all sectors including the poor and urban. The major highlight includes Rs. 1000 crore package on housing scheme for the rural and urban sectors. The Finance Minister also announced a Rs. 25 crore for IT industry in an effort to boost the sector amid economic slow down.
The goverment also announced a Rs 370 crore package for the poor towards selling rice for people in the BPL families at Rs. 2 per kg. --MP
