Shyam Group's steel plant by 2009

Shyam SEL & Power Ltd is all set to commence its operations to develop a greefield integrated steel and power plant at Jamuria in Burdwan district of West Bengal.
The project estimated at Rs 9,900 crore will begin by the end of 2009. The company earlier this year has agreed on an MoU with the WB governmnet on this regard and proposes to set up a 1.1 million tonne per annum finished steel and a 1,000 MW captive power unit.
The company has so far acquired 400 acres for this purpose and expects the govt to handover 180 acres for the project.
