Mosquito borne diseases on a rise
Saturday 15 November 2008
Mosquito related diseases are alarmingly increasing in several parts of West Bengal. At least 33 people have so far died in the State affected by mosquito borne diseases which include malaria, dengue fever etc.
Kolkatta alone reports 25 related deaths caused by malaria, Japanese encephalitis, meningo encephalitis, viral encephalitis and dengue. Though the municipal corporations are trying to combat the mosquito menace, people are advised with health awareness programmes to deal with the symptoms and preventive measures to be taken to avoid an infection. --MP
