Justice Soumitra Sen of the Calcutta High Court is facing charges of alleged financial misconduct.
On a probe conducted by the Chief Justice of India led panel has found Justice Sen guilty of misconduct while conducting a money deal which the judge has deposited into his personal account instead to the reciever's fund.
On the wake of this, CJI himself has written to the Prime Minister's Office asking to initate the process for removal of Justice Sen from office. The Chief Justice has suggested the government to initiate impeachment motion against the judge in Parliament.
