Subhas Ghising will step down as the caretaker administrator of the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC) in ten days time.
The GNLF chief had held talks with the West Bengal government over the imposition of the Sixth Schedule status on the Darjeeling Hills.
GNLF were asking for seperate state while the West Bengal Government has been resisting demands for a separate Gorkha state.
Following Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee holding talks over the issue, the indefenite stike in Darjeeling was withdrawn and Ghising has sought 10 days time to step down from his post as DGHC administrator.
