State Govt projecting tea tourism in N Bengal

West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation is coming up with the idea of projecting tea tourism in the state to catch the interest of tourists visiting the State. With this in mind the Government has also set aside funds for promotion and development of an integrated tea tourism circuit. The Center also had sanctioned schemes worth Rs 6 crore for the development of infrastructure and accommodation in North Bengal towards tea tourism promotion. Under this project areas like Malbazar, Murti, Hilla, Mohua, Samsing, Nagrakata, Batabari of N Bengal are being chosen for active promotion of the tea estates. --MP
