West bengal politics as seen from elsewhere after a gap of 35 years
By dinesh on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - 05:49 am: Edit Postwhen i was a student in calcutta i saw neil armstrong reach the moon. i enjoyed. i saw the news of indo russian treaty and at age 15 did not like it a bit and wondered why the same treaty should not have been made with may be the united states. i saw the metro rail project passed for a sum of Rs.1700 crores. i did not like it. with that money they could have made another calcutta nearby. a skyrail would have been cheaper and cover 5 times the distance. i do not like the communists of india. they do not think judiciously. they are in democracy and prospered in it. they go to see world cup football or reside in london regularly in luxury but hate foreign investment at least till recently. they belittle a democratically elected cricket head on winning the seat in a most unsportly manner. they oppose the colas all the time but when the swadeshi's stir a controvery they duck silently. they support a congress leader when he is indicted for getting favour immorally by using the name of his organisation. bureaucrats go to jail for such offences but for politicians these are games like polo. they even openly support just because he is a friend fogetting the immoral side of the story. and last but not least is the opposition in the state. people are amazed to see the best opposition leader shouting in full view irrationally and frequently. it would be better for her to use simple bengali in a sober tone than shouting at the top of her voice in a language no one understands. ha ha.....
