W. Bengal set for a change in education

Its a heartening news that such premier institutes like IISc & IIFT are planning to come to West Bengal. While this is a welcome change, such changes will yield tangible results only when there is a paradigm shift in the state governments attitude towards education. Adding institutions will not help unless the government learns to maintain the desired academic standards in the institutions by making objective education as the only agenda in Educational Institutions. Freedom of education from the clutches of Politics is an imperative for West Bengal to achieve a respectable standard of education. The education system has been sinking too deep in red ink and has only become an efficent machinery of political indoctrination. This is possibly the most opportune time, as the image of Communist West Bengal has never been better. The state govt. could easily give this positive momentum a huge boost by sending out messages in the right direction. The fruits of such change will surely be apparent in the days to come, which could only help in improving image of the state and the government. After all the state does not essentially have any dearth of bright minds.
