The Bengali film titled Chirosakha He ... My Soul Mate streamlines the world of Rabindranath Tagore’s adolescence and tells the tale of his relationship with his sister-in-law and muse, Kadambari Devi, wife of his elder brother, Jyotirindranath Tagore. It is a love story, poignant, sensitive and inevitably tragic. Chirosakha He is the first film to be shot at Tagore’s ancestral home of Jorasanko. Meticulous research has gone into every aspect of the film that is the directorial debut of Bandana Mukhopadhyay. Starring Soumitro Chatterjee, Rupa Ganguly, Shrilekha Mukherjee, Badshah Moitra, Tom Alter and newfinds Sayandep Bhattacharya and Deepanjana, it is produced by Satish R Tandon. Written and directed by Bandana Mukhopadhyay, Bappi Lahiri has composed the music to the lyrics penned by Gurudev Ravindranath Tagore and Vidapati. The film is also being made in English as Tagore … Straight From The Heart and in Hindi as Tagore … Dil Se.
